Over the past year, CDBC engaged HRx Technology Inc., an EDI consulting firm, to conduct an audit of CDBC practices. CDBC reached out to registrants through a survey during the Fall 2020, conducted focus groups with dietitians from various backgrounds and individual interviews with key partners in regulation and dietetics. The work concluded in March 2021 after the Board endorsed the recommendations and assigned resources to start working on the actions.
We’re pleased to share with you the full report highlighting what we heard through this consultation and what we have committed to work on over the next 2-3 years.
Moving forward, CDBC is committed to report regularly on our progress and will include EDI as a topic within our Monthly Update. Please read the report and our vision statement here. We welcome your feedback and questions regarding the report and our actions.
As part of our response to the In Plain Sight Report, the CDBC is also working on an acknowledgement of the systemic racism towards Indigenous People in BC. The statement will outline our commitment to contribute to meaningful changes individually but also collaboratively with other health regulators.
