Welcome to the College of Dietitians of British Columbia

The titles "Dietitian" and "Registered Dietitian" are protected by law.  Only qualified health professionals, who are registered with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia, may use these titles and practice as Dietitians in BC.

The College of Dietitians of British Columbia was established on November 2, 2002 under the Health Professions Act through enactment of the Dietitians Regulation. Bylaws for the College were approved by the provincial government on December 11, 2003 and on April 1, 2004 the College became the legal authority for the regulation of Dietitians in British Columbia.

Under the Health Professions Act, the mandate of the College of Dietitians of BC is to protect the BC public by regulating Dietitians to practice safely, ethically and competently. The College achieves this through fulfilling its Vision, Mission and Values Statements.

CDBC registration is valid from April 1st to March 31st and must be renewed annually. Registration renewal is available every year from March 1st to March 31st in the Registrant Login section. Please read the information below before renewing your registration.

Renewal Process

Only three steps are required to renew your registration:

  1. Click on "Registrant Login" and input your email and password.View your current profile in the Profile Management screen. If changes are needed, click on the appropriate link under “Choose an Option.” Please ensure you save your changes by clicking the “submit” button in the lower left corner of your screen. If you wish to resign from the College of Dietitians of BC, please contact the office to be “Removed in Good Standing”. Via email to: This email address is being protected from spambots.   2. Select Restricted Activities and indicate your proof of competence. Please email, fax or mail a complete Application to Practice Restricted Activities by the March 15th deadline.   3. Pay your fees by VISA or MasterCard through the secure online link. Your payment must be received by CDBC by midnight, March 31st. Print your payment confirmation page for your files.

Registration certificates and official income tax receipts are available to download and print in your online account under "Online Service/Receipts".

Renewal Deadline

In order to practice dietetics on April 1st and use the title "Registered Dietitian" or "Dietitian," your renewal application and fees must be received by the CDBC by March 31st each year. Registrants who do not renew their registration by March 31st may not practice dietetics and call themselves a dietitian beginning April 1st. An additional late registration fee of $290 is automatically added to the fee section on April 1st.

Welcome to the Registrant section of the CDBC website. You may access your Profile Management by clicking "Registrant Login" found on the Registrant drop down menu above. To log in, type in your email and password. 

By logging in, you are easily able to:

  • update your profile

  • find information about your Continuing Competence Program (CCP) and Jurisprudence Examination (JED) group
  • renew your annual registration, including Restricted Activities

  • pay your fees

In accordance with section 54 of the CDBC bylaws, a registrant must immediately update their profile to notify CDBC of any change in contact and workplace information.
